These two have a more humorous relationship with one another. It seems they are always teasing each other about something. They don't pick each other apart like Guy and Dekar, it's more subtle. They do, however, trust each other dearly. Guy seems to have no problem opening up to Artea about how he really thinks about things, seriously and sometimes not.

Artea either knew who Iris really was or had an inkling, for at the Tower of Truth he kept asking her questions and when she noticed he was an elf she seemed a bit uneasy. Artea, being an elf, could probably feel her energy as being similar to Erim's.

At first, Artea doesn't want Maxim to get himself involved in his town's affairs, but later you can see the respect they have for one another as both warriors and freinds, espically in the end when Artea doesn't want to leave Maxim to die.

Karyn was the mother of Milka and protector of the Divine Shrine. Her closeness with Artea was never really explained. Most people believe that they were either lovers or close friends. Karyn worried about Artea often and asked him to look after Milka before she died.

Artea looks after Milka and protects her as an older brother would. When Karyn lay dying in his arms, she made Artea promise to look after Milka. Because of that, Artea was most likely even more protective of the little elf.
