Dekar lives!
Testament to Dekar's remarkable popularity would be the constant nods to him in every Estpolis game after his debut thus far.The Legend Returns
About midway through this game, we meet up with a character named Deckard. He's cocky, he's confident, he's a physical powerhouse, and he's got a wild blue mane. Even the name is similar! But there are a few notable differences between Deckard and the original Dekar. For starters, Deckard doesn't seem to be interested in the opposite sex. He's also more of a free spirit: He's the game's "good" pirate, who sails the seas destroying the bad ones (with a mighty unwieldy-looking ship attachment, no less). And lastly — and most interestingly — Deckard is eventually revealed to be the long-lost brother of Princess Melphis of Alstadt. Some folks have posited that Deckard is Dekar's descendant. There is a tiny bit of proof for this, I must admit: Deckard can wield the Dekar Blade in the game (in the English version this weapon is wrongly labeled "DeckerBlade"). That raises the intriguing question of how Dekar's bloodline managed to turn blue (that is, become royal) and spread to Southland within the span of 198 years. It would also mean that Dekar had children, which in turn could mean that he eventually got married, despite his string of romantic failures in Estpolis II.The Ruins of Lore
