Beauty and the Beast was opened on March 30, 2004 after a successful application to TFL. It started out as just a fanlisting, with only a little extra material. But Vincent and Tifa are such popular characters, and the pairing Vincent x Tifa has quite a following among FFVII fans, so in time I decided to turn the fanlisting into a full-fledged fan site.

Of course, in accordance with TFL's rules, the fanlisting section is open to all kinds of relationships between Vincent and Tifa.

Some fans may call this site a "shrine" to Vincent x Tifa. However, I like to make a distinction between that term and a fan site/fanstation. Shrines are extremely in-depth and offer a great deal of detail and analysis on the subject matter, while fan sites are simply places for fans of a particular subject to gather and express themselves. The aim of this website is not to list a lot of factual information about Vincent and Tifa, or a lot of editorials about their behavior or related canon events. It's to provide Vincent x Tifa fans with resources for one of their favorite fandom pairings.

The current layout is the fourteenth this site has seen. I decided to go with one of my hobbies as a theme this time around. (I've been studying Astrology since I was 14.) The text on the far left of the layout image is factual information on Vincent and Tifa's Sun signs. The wheel in the lower right corner is a natal chart generated by Astrodienst (it's actually part of my boyfriend's natal chart). The symbols that appear as you roll over the menu options are as follows, from left to right: the planet Venus (ruler of Taurus and Libra), the Sun (since this layout deals with Sun signs), the sign of Libra (Vincent's Sun sign), and the sign of Taurus (Tifa's Sun sign). Venus was chosen for the VinTif option because it rules both Tifa and Vincent's Sun signs. The Sun was chosen for the fanlisting option because that section was the foundation for this site's existence, much as the Sun is the foundation of one's character in Astrology.
